   We would like to invite you to become part of Live4football, the ultimate football resource, scheduled for launch in January 2008. Backed by major sponsors, Live4football is the opportunity for regular football fans to make their voice heard on football matters in an innovative new way. Living up to the sites tag line of “Football News For the Fans - By the Fans”, Live4football will put a new spin on the world of football news, allowing fans to contribute news and editorial in an objective rather than matter of fact way.

   The premise of Live4football is to stimulate debate among football fans, covering every single aspect of the game. Having analysed our competitors, including Football365, Sky Sports and BBC, we have identified a number of improvement areas which will set Live4football ahead of the rest. As well as providing the latest daily football news, Live4football will place great emphasis on editorial articles, with our writers debating the main talking points in football in the style of a newspaper article. This will provide the stimulus for discussion and argument, bringing the “pub debate” onto the PC and providing the ideal distraction for fans all over the globe.

   With anticipated traffic levels of over 1.5m unique users per month, this is a unique opportunity to get involved in a major project.

   Sponsors

   Live4football has the backing of major sponsors, however, as negotiations are not yet finalized (only the formalities remain), we are unable to release further details at this time. However, we can confirm the among the backers are a leading affiliate network (who will handle the promotion of the site), betting and merchandise sponsors as well as a Media Group. The long-term strategy is to turn Live4football into a magazine, once a loyal fanbase has been created.

   How can I be involved?

   Whilst we wait for the final stages of project’s development be to created, we are finalizing our writing staff. At the moment, we have over 150 writers signed up to this project, however, we can never have enough contributors to the project. No contribution is too small, so we look forward to hearing your thoughts. At present, the following places are vacant:

   News Updates - League
   Live4football aims to cover as many leagues in the world as possible. There is no league we won’t attempt to cover - our only restrictions are reporters.

   The most senior role you can apply for is “league editor”. Under this role, you would be expected to work on a daily basis, compiling news submitted by your sub-editors as well as writing your own news stories and updates. For example, the editor of “Serie A” should keep up to date with all major transfer and injury stories, as well as providing a summary of matches, results, upcoming fixtures, etc.

   At lower levels, you can simply choose to submit news stories to the editor.

   Team Editor
   Ultimately, every team will have it’s own “homepage”, giving all the latest news updates and details of the club. If you choose to be the editor for your team, you will be expected to keep up to date with the latest news, match results (reports where possible), upcoming fixtures. Player profiles would also be handy, but these are not a necessity.

   Of course, if you don’t want the responsibility, you are still welcome to submit articles or news stories on a more infrequent basis.

   Article Writer
   A major feature of Live4football will be our articles. This will take the topic of an editorial opinion on the latest football news topics from around the world. For example, you may wish to write an article on whether Emile Heskey or Wayne Rooney should partner Michael Owen in Russia. Visitors will then debate your thoughts. Each writer will be able to have their own profile, showing their articles, any details you wish to share. You will also have the opportunity to promote any external project you work on.

   Writers will compete for prizes, based on feedback and our reviews of your articles.

   Features
   We are always interested in adding new features to the site. Examples we have seen include how the Premiership table would look if only goals from British players counted, or if the game ended 10 mins early, etc.

   If you are interested in working on any project remotely similar to this, that’s a little bit different, we’d love to hear from you.
