Champions League

Scholes thunderbolt strike send Manchester United into dream finale!

Champions League S/F 2nd leg
Old Trafford, 29 April

MANCHESTER UNITED 1 (1)
Scholes 14

FC BARCELONA 0 (0)

Manchester United finally at Champions League final again!! I always dream to see United in the final again after 1999. Now..its happen!! The only thing that I am regret is that.. I am didn’t watch last night match against Barcelona. I am waiting until 3.00 am.. then…its BLACKOUT!! My baby wake up and crying for the whole night because he is some kind of “fear of the dark” baby.
Since, he is wake up.. I also have to wake up…but the problem is.. I cannot watch Manchester United vs Barcelona match!!! I don’t understand why it should BLACKOUT during that important match!.
Sabotage maybe??…huh..

So, when I am wake up in morning at 6am, everything gets back to morning. Without brushing my teeth… I go straight to watch Eurosportnews at channel 811. The result come out….

What a stunning thunderbolt strike from Paul Scholes…
And what sweet irony it is that Paul Scholes, the man who along with Roy Keane missed the Champions League final in 1999, scored the goal to take United there. What a goal it was - a 25-yard scorcher fit to win any match.

I listed out some of managers and players comments on last night match;
Sir Alex Ferguson,

‘It would be a nice final against Liverpool but I really don’t care,’
‘Maybe we will get more tickets against Liverpool because Roman Abramovich seems to have bought them all up.’

“The fans were absolutely brilliant,” said Sir Alex on MUTV. “When our crowd gets like that, we never let them down. They make such an impact, they force us to play.”

“That was a great performance, we had so many good players, it’s a shame to pick out just one. Wes Brown, Rio Ferdinand… you could go right across the back four. But Tevez to me was absolutely fantastic. Tevez at times was an absolute terrier.”

“We’ve seen so many great goals from Paul in the past but tonight, considering the occasion and the importance of the game, he scored an absolutely magnificent goal.”

“It was excruciating, that’s what it was. The pain and the agony - I always feel that to get success, the players have to endure that. All the hard work, all the pain and torment you go through in football is rewarded by a result like tonight’s.”

“I just feel tonight we have beaten a fantastic football club and a great team and that puts our performance in perspective. I think it was marvellous.”

Micheal Carrick,

“It’s a happy place I can tell you that!”

“It’s as much relief as anything. We put so much pressure on ourselves to achieve big things.

“We were so desperate to get to the final and win it. We knew it was going to be tough but we’ve made it.”

Rio Ferdinand,

“We had to dig deep in the end, but we feel we did enough to make it to the final,”

“We had to show discipline, quality in the goal from Paul Scholes - and what a goal! - and then resilience. We stuck together and we’re there now.”

“I don’t care who we face in the final, we’re there and that’s all that matters.”

Malaysia League

Kedah Hijau Kuning retains Malaysia Super League title in style!

After watch United lose to Chelsea last night. I have changed my TV channel to TV1 to watch Malaysia Super league match. It is between Kedah & Pahang. Since Kedah or also know as the Canaries with popular colours, Hijau Kuning already sealed this season title early this month when they defeated Terengganu 2-0, this match actually meaningless for the league rank, however, I would love to see Kedah win this match because they will get the trophy after the match in front of their home fan.

There are 25000 filled up Darulaman Stadium last night to see the Canaries downed Pahang 1-0 in their final home match of the season, courtesy of a 10-minute Marlon James goal. And after the match, the fan gives their loudest cheers when Kedah received the Super League trophy from Sultan Kedah Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

Mohd Azraai Khor’s team, who had already created history by bagging an unprecedented treble last year, are also the first side to successfully defend the Super League trophy.

Congratulation to Kedah soccer team…hopefully Manchester United will do the same this season!!

EPL

EPL - Exciting match but surely not for United fan

Barclays Premier League
Stamford Bridge, Sat 26 April 2008

CHELSEA 2
Ballack (45+1, 86 pen)

MANCHESTER UNITED 1
Rooney (57)

It is hard for me to accept the defeat last night. I am looking for a draw after seeing how Chelsea played for their life. They keep running and running…pressing and pressing because the defeat last night means that giving the title to United. It is pretty weird to see such a match like that because normally when 2 big team such as Chelsea and United meet, they will play safe.

After Ballack scored Chelsea’s first goal… I still confident that United will strike back because they always do that although it is quite clear that Chelsea dominate most of the time. Then, when Rooney strike….yeah…I believe that it will end 1-1 and United chance to retain the Premier League title seems brighter.

However, its unbelievable childish mistake by Carrick that gives the penalty in the end of full time to Chelsea that makes me really mad. Ohh..goshhh…

I watched this match alone at my house. It is a very very exciting match that makes me sweat a lot. I sweat not because of Malaysia high humidity but the way United play. As always.. I always sick every time I see Nani play. He tried to be another Ronaldo..but he always loose the ball easily.

Since, there are still 2 more matches to play. It seems that United still got better chance to retain the title because they will only meet the team like West Ham and Wigan in their last 2 matches.

So, next…may be.. I have to buy a humidifier to make sure I am not sweat again while watching United next match!!
